On February 4th, 2019 the New York Giants released linebacker Conner Barwin. The veteran outside linebacker was signed to the Giants on July 25th. In 2018, Barwin played his 10th season. The veteran ended his time with 1.0 sacks and played three games while Olivier Vernon was out.
The Barwin signed a two-year contract with the Giants. According to Dan Schneier, “the Giants signed the veteran outside linebacker with the hopes of him mentoring younger players making the transition from the Giants 4-3 defensive scheme to new defensive coordinator James Bettcher’s 3-4 scheme. By the end of the 2018 season, Barwin was all but phased out of the defense.” Conner Barwin has been a part of four different clubs. After being drafted by the Houston Texans.
